Our Counselors
Fun in the Sun is staffed by experienced teachers and counselors. The counselors have themselves attended Fun in the Sun. This makes them especially qualified in that they are well known by the teachers and they have the advantage of truly knowing the program and its expectations.
Kate Frank
I’m a third-grade teacher at Roxborough Christian School and I’m an experienced camp counselor. I enjoy running, crocheting, and cheering for Philadelphia’s amazing sports teams, Go EAGLES!
I love doing arts and crafts with the campers and this summer I’ll be introducing our youngest campers to the joy of literacy during story time.
Kate is also the Aquatic Director at Fun in the Sun. If you are interested in swim lessons for your child please contact Kate directly.
Jade Swisher
I’ve been a camper with Fun in the Sun since I was 7 years old and I have been a counselor for over six years. I just completed my junior year at Alvernia University, majoring in occupational therapy. I enjoy biking, listening to music, and spending time with my friends and family.
My favorite activities at camp are teaching arts and crafts, playing dress-up, and putting on shows with the campers.
Zach Webster
I just graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, with a Master of Philosophy in Education degree. While this is my first year at Fun in the Sun, my beautiful fiancée, Shequoya, has told me so much about camp that I feel I already know most campers.
I enjoy video games, running, and watching movies. I’m looking forward to getting to know all our campers, playing in the pool, and organizing games and activities this summer.
Colin Polisano
Hi, all! My name is Colin Polisano. I am 18 years old and I just graduated from Cheltenham High School. I have been attending Fun in the Sun since I was 8 years old and this is my fourth year as a counselor. I enjoy acting, reading, singing, writing, and supporting local charities in the Philadelphia region.
While I was a camper, the counselors were one of the main reasons that gave my summers incredible experiences. I hope to return the favor to the campers this year and I’m looking forward to an amazing summer!
Kam Greer
My name is Kamryn although I prefer to be called Kam. I've lived in Philadelphia my entire life, and I'll be a sophomore at Freire Charter High School in the fall. When I do graduate high school, I want to go to the University of Penn to major in Veterinary Medicine. I am looking forward to coming back to Fun In The Sun this year and seeing old and new faces!
David Coverdale
Hi, my name is David Coverdale and I’m a freshman at Wissahickon High School. I like playing sports, especially basketball, soccer, and baseball. I also enjoy playing with my two little brothers.
This will be my fifth year at Fun in the Sun and my second year as a counselor. I'm looking forward to working with the kids and helping them to have a great summer!
Zach Kolsun
Hi I’m Zach Kolsun. I’m 16 years old and I go to Plymouth Whitemarsh high school. In my free time I enjoy playing soccer and volunteering with youth soccer games.
I look forward to a fun filled summer, leading campers in sports, games, and outdoor activities.
Jay Mancini
Hi, I’m Jay. I’m 18 and I just graduated from Cheltenham High School. I will be attending Morgan State University, in Baltimore, studying screen writing. I enjoy eating delicious food, listening to music, and hanging out with my friends.
This summer I’m looking forward to sharing my love of music with campers. From sing-alongs, talent shows, and dance parties, we’ll be grooving all summer long!
Molly Magill
Hi. I’m Molly Magill. I will be a Junior at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School this Fall. I enjoy hanging out with friends, participating in all sports (especially soccer), and listening to music.
This will be my first year as a counselor, but I attended Fun in The Sun as a camper, with my sister, when I was younger. I enjoyed my time so much at Fun in the Sun that I just couldn’t stay away!
Caleb Silverman
Hi, I’m Caleb and I’ll be a Junior at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School this fall. I am a three-letter athlete at my school, playing soccer, running track and cross-country. This is my sixth year at Fun in the Sun. I started as a camper and had so much fun I had to stay on and become a counselor.
This summer I’m looking forward to pick-up basketball games with campers, ping-pong, and foosball games.
John Cureton
Hi, I’m John. I’ll be a sophomore at LaSalle College high school in the fall. I have two younger brothers. I enjoy baseball, playing my trumpet, and video games.
This is my third year at Fun in the Sun and I look forward playing basketball, organizing games, and getting to know our campers.
Nate Jones
I started at Fun in the Sun as a five-year-old camper. Nine years later and I’m a counselor. I’ll be entering my Freshman year at Science Leadership Academy at Beeber High School, where math and science are my favorite subjects. Outside of school I enjoy basketball, football, and hockey.
My favorite part of camp is helping to organize sports games, like dodgeball, basketball, football, and capture the flag.
Henry Childs
Hi, I’m Henry. I will be a freshman at Central High School in the Fall. I play team basketball and baseball and I enjoy video games, especially Fortnite.
I was a camper at Fun in the Sun for four years and this is my first year as a counselor. I’m looking forward to swimming with campers, playing ping pong, and organizing nature walks.
Jonas Gindin
Hi, I’m Jonas. I’ll be a Senior at Central High School this fall. I started attending Fun in the Sun when I was 5 years old and I loved every second of it. I loved being a camper so much that as soon as I was old enough I became a counselor. I love being outdoors and playing sports.
Every summer I look forward to seeing returning campers and meeting new kids. I love playing in the pool with kids, organizing dodgeball and basketball games, and any other outdoor activities.
Mia Johnston
Hi, I’m Mia and I attend Aim Academy. I attend Fun in the Sun as a camper for nine years and this is my first year as a counselor. I love soccer and I play year-round on a travel soccer team. I enjoy art, watching tv, and listening to music.
This summer I’m looking forward to doing arts and crafts and playing dress up with our littlest campers.
Khalil McCants
Hi, I'm Khalil and I am a junior at Germantown Friends School. I am a former camper at FITS and would spend summers on end at the swim club. I love sports and am GFS' varsity starting catcher.
